Why we built Convai Agent OS
Healthcare professionals, assistant professors, and medical researchers in India and around the world are overwhelmed with documentation — research literature analysis, grant proposals, clinical trial parsing, and patient communication. Tools like ChatGPT are powerful, but uploading sensitive patient data for case studies to cloud APIs violates institutional IRB guidelines, HIPAA, GDPR, and India's DPDP Act.
Generic open-source agent frameworks like OpenClaw promise autonomy, but they require complex configurations, demand risky system-level permissions, and have zero awareness of healthcare-specific workflows or compliance requirements.
We asked: What if an academician or doctor could have an AI assistant as powerful as GPT-4, capable of querying deep medical literature across specialized models, but running entirely on their own computer inside a secure sandbox?
That's Convai Agent OS — a custom operating system with a locally-hosted multimodal agentic LLM (or hot-swappable models like ClinicalCamel), wrapped in HIPAA-compliant security controls, empowering researchers to leverage generative AI without compromising data privacy.
